From Silk to Silicon: The Story of Globalization Through Ten Extraordinary Lives Join the Council for the second installment of our Business Series. Jeffrey Garten, Dean Emeritus at the Yale School of Management and former Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade, will discuss the history of globalization through the lens of individuals and their transformative achievements. Linking such figures as Genghis Khan, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, Cyrus Field, and Margaret Thatcher, Garten will probe the questions: How much influence can one person have in fundamentally changing the world? And how have past trends in globalization affected the present and how will they shape the future?
