In this concluding lecture of the 2025-26 Mandelbaum Family Lecture Series, Professor Xu Xin - one of China’s foremost scholars of Jewish studies - offers a compelling exploration of Jewish history, culture, and identity through a Chinese lens. Drawing on decades of scholarship, he examines historic communities in Kaifeng and Shanghai, the resonance of Jewish resilience, and the evolution of China–Israel relations. The talk also highlights growing academic exchange, innovation partnerships, and contemporary Chinese perspectives on Israel as a “start-up nation.”
