FRIEND DIVORCE Indie Film Premiere
Pace alum Kat Belinfante (Class of 2010) is proud to collaborate with Pace Academy to host the Atlanta premiere of Friend Divorce, a heartfelt comedy written by Belinfante and Jennifer Zahlit and starring Belinfante that explores the heartbreak of the friend breakup.
Logline: In a world where friends get married more often to receive the same legal and societal benefits as romantic spouses, high school best friends Rose and Taylor eagerly tie the knot. But as new relationships and changing career ambitions throughout their twenties contribute to new priorities, one feels compelled to file for divorce, rocking what they always thought would be their deepest connection.
Belinfante and Zahlit, real-life best friends and creative partners, created Friend Divorce to examine what would happen if a friendship had equal weight as a romantic relationship in the eyes of society...and the law. Relationship scientists say that the average person will replace more than half of their friends every seven years. In our lifetime, we may go through as many (or more!) friend break-ups as romantic ones. So why are there hundreds of movies about romantic breakups and none about friends?
