Freshly Squeezed Comedy is the high-energy, wacky standup duo of Lefty Crumpet & Jesse The Shrink. They book, produce, and perform in their own shows throughout the state of Minnesota. Lefty brings his silly songs & Jesse brings his unique perspectives as a licensed therapist (yes he really is a shrink & yes, that probably means he's analyzing you). Joining them for their return to LTD Brewing Co. in Hopkins will be beer-drinking & overall chill headliner Nate Abshire (Last Comic Standing), whose sardonic wit, keen writing, & playful stage presence endears him with audiences everywhere. PLUS the very talented Lily Meyer, who has been taking the Twin Cities comedy scene by storm with her brutally (& refreshingly) honest takes on this weird experience we call life. About the comedians: HEADLINER: NATE ABSHIRE Nate started performing comedy in 2009 - what will be called 'the before time,' after the global economic collapse. The following year he finished runner-up in the Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest. In 2012 he ventured west and was a semifinalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. In 2013 Nate performed at Laughfest in their “Best of the Midwest” contest finishing runner-up, and by this point, became very tired of losing comedy contests. He gave it another try in 2014 on NBC's Last Comic Standing...but again did not win. Since then he has opened for some of the best comics working today, whose names you would know and recognize AND finally won a comedy contest in 2020 - The Coast to Coast Roast. In 2021 Nate released his debut, award-winning album "Coming In Hot" on 800lb Gorilla Records. Audiences love his sardonic wit, keen writing, & playful stage presence. Nate currently lives in Minneapolis with his cat. ---------- FEATURE: LILY MEYER Lily is a stand-up comedian and writer who began her comedy career in Boston, and now lives in her hometown of Minneapolis. Her style of comedy is dark and sometimes dirty. Some people have thanked her for ‘finally saying what they have been feeling their entire lives’, and those people need professional help. She performs at the Comedy Corner Underground, Sisyphus Brewing, and Camp Bar while also co-producing a bimonthly show at Indeed Brewing. She is a contributing writer for RiffTrax. LEFTY CRUMPET (1/2 of Freshly Squeezed Comedy) Lefty is a 25-year-old, Minneapolis-based, ethnically ambiguous, joke-slinging, musical funnyman with social anxiety from Riverside, California. He started doing stand up comedy in college and immediately fell in love with the stage. He loves playing music, so he soon began incorporating comedy songs into his standup performances. He lifts your hearts and minds with absurd and hilarious jokes and songs, about various topics ranging from relationships to Doordash. He is a co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy & was a finalist in the 2022 Funniest Person With a Day Job competition at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy at the Mall of America. You can find him bringing joy and confusion to crowds all over the Midwest. JESSE THE SHRINK (the other half of Freshly Squeezed Comedy) What do you get when you cross a therapist and a standup comedian? This guy! A bona fide licensed shrink, Jesse is also co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, producer of Jesse The Shrink's Midlife Crisis Show & The St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, & was a 2023 Funniest Person With A Day Job finalist at Rick Bronson's House of Comedy.
