Free Symphony Concert
Join us at our wonderful new venue with plenty of free parking, cushy seats and great sightlines. We will offer you some rarities of the music world. First up will be a touch of Bach and a hint of Mozart in the fugal String Symphony by a very young Felix Mendelssohn. Then journey through the Emerald Isle with Ina Boyle’s Symphony No. 1 Glencree, from the hills of the coast, to a windy valley, and up to a high, blue lake.
We end the concert with Symphony No. 4 by Muzio Clementi, who wrote at the same time as Mozart and outlived Beethoven. Clementi was, in fact, the most well-known piano composer of the time (no, it wasn’t Mozart!), a household name back then, if you will. This dramatic symphony, written just before he died, just might make him a household name in your house.
Come early for a pre-concert talk by Music Director Eric Hansen. Fully accessible, family friendly. Tickets are free but required. Donations gratefully accepted.
