WHAT: White households are 10 times wealthier than Black households, according to a 2024 survey from the U.S. Census Bureau. On a mission to close this wealth gap, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers has partnered with Black farmers and clergy to present the NAREB Black Wealth Tour: Black Farmers Edition in Phoenix. This free event is open to the public and will center on agricultural solutions, access to capital, real estate resources, and building generational wealth.

WHO: The event is hosted by Pastor Terry E. Mackey of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and will feature the following sponsors, confirmed guests, and speakers:
• The Phoenix chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) will cover heirs’ property, land trust, estate planning, and smart decision-making about big momma’s house.
• The Minority Professional Truckers Association (MPTA) will address transportation of commodities, agriculture hubs, as well as workforce training and funding programs.
• The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will highlight the impact of its climate-smart and healthy soil programs.
• The CEO and founder of the UPI Loan Fund (UPILF), Frank E. Crump, will share strategies for low-interest debt relief in marginalized communities.
• The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), also known as the “Divine Nine” and the coordinating body for historically Black fraternities and sororities at AZU, will be in attendance.
• Surprise appearance from our local and/or state representative.
