Free PAD Screening and Education: Friday, September 25 at Memorial Miramar Hospital
Free PAD screenings and education, sponsored by Memorial Foundation and FloridaHeart.org, will take place Friday, September 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Memorial Miramar Hospital, Medical Surgical Center, 1971 SW 172nd Ave, Miramar. Residents are encourage to participate if they have one or more of the following risk factors:
• Leg pain while walking
• Family history of PAD
• Diabetes
• High blood pressure or high cholesterol
• Chronic kidney disease
• Current or past smoking history
Common symptoms include leg pain, cramping or numbness during walking; sores or wounds on the feet that heal slowly; pale or discolored toes; decreased walking distance; or one leg or foot that feels colder than the other.
