Free Financial Education Webinar for Metro Detroit Children and Their Parents
A free webinar workshop called Winning Strategies for Kids and Money is being hosted by Gesher Human Services to help children learn how to make smart financial choices this summer. The virtual workshop on Friday, July 26 at 1 p.m. aims to educate children, alongside their parents, about the importance of managing their money. Young participants will learn how to structure their allowance and other monies to understand the power of saving, budgeting, credit scores and the perils of debt, to help eliminate financial obstacles for their future. The program is open to middle school and high school students and their parents, and children who participate in the program will receive a $5 gift card to Dairy Queen. Local community bankers will also be available during the program for youth wanting to open a bank account.
