FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel and FOUND:RE Contemporary Host Sequential Art Exhibition

FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel and FOUND:RE Contemporary, located at 1100 N. Central Ave. are pleased to present the Sequential Art Exhibition in conjunction with the Arizona Comic Book Arts Festival. The exhibition, which opens Monday, Feb. 20, showcases published works from comic book artists from the likes of Marvel, DC, Image and other publishers, large and small.
“As part of our mission to advocate for the arts community, we also take great pride in showcasing a wide array of art in our exhibitions,” says Chris Genung, general manager of FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel. “We are excited to present the Sequential Art Exhibition and hope to attract not only current comic book art lovers but a whole new generation of those who we’re certain will come to appreciate this genre.”
The exhibition debuts Monday, Feb. 20 and will remain on display through Saturday, Feb. 26. On Friday, Feb. 24, FOUND:RE Phoenix is pleased to host a live painting demonstration featuring Steve Rude, the 1988 Eisner Award Best Artist. Guests of the guests of the Arizona Comic Book Arts Festival will also be at the hotel sketching at the official Drink and Draw of the Arizona Comic Book Arts Festival featuring drink specials provided by Huss Brewing in honor of Arizona Beer Week.
Rude is a multi-award winning artist and acclaimed lecturer. Over the course of his more than two decades long career, he has drawn hundreds of comics’ greatest iconic heroes and has galvanized the art world as a comic magazine artist and illustrator.
In addition to Rude, other artists whose works will be displayed include Tim Seeley (G.I. Joe, Deadpool and Exiles), Chris Bachalo (Uncanny X-men, Sandman and Avengers) John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Captain America and Star Wars) and Ryan Cody.
