Sip, stroll, and sketch at the New Bedford Whaling Museum on the First Friday, September 6. You may walk and sketch independently or join the tutor-led art sessions – with artist Mason Terra – at 5:45 pm or 6:45 pm.
Please bring your sketchpad and pencil, or ask for them at the front desk when you arrive (available while supplies last). You are encouraged to sketch something tactile inspired by the Wider World and Scrimshaw exhibitions or other collections or let your imagination run wild.
Our after-hours First Friday events are tailor-made for grownups (21+ events), with cash bar service and light bites. The entire museum remains open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy a fun date night or night out with friends amongst fine art collections and one-of-a-kind artifacts, and impress them aboard the world's largest ship model.
This program is presented in conjunction with "Stories Lead Us Home": Short Films from the Pacific to the Arctic, happening in the Cook Memorial Theater. Your ticket is valid for either program.
