First Folk Sunday - Linda Ronstadt Tribute
Westport, Ct – On July 6 First Folk Sunday, the popular Sunday afternoon folk series, will begin its 3rd season at the Saugatuck Rowing Club in Westport with a powerful tribute concert to Linda Ronstadt.
Covering the musical repertoire of Linda Ronstadt is a challenge for most singers but Rozanne Gates, producer of First Folk Sunday said, “The only reason we are able to do a Linda Ronstadt tribute is because we have the two best possible singers. Suzanne Sheridan and her sister Christine Erskine have been singing the songs of Linda Ronstadt for themselves for so long and now they have the chance to sing publicly for our audience. When you hear them sing you will hear two voices who come as close to Ronstadt as you will get.”
Joining them musically will be Bob Cooper on keyboards and Tim DeHuff on lead guitar. Both have appeared previously at First Folk Sunday. Sheridan will be on rhythm guitar and vocals.
In addition to the purchase of a ticket, the culinary team at Saugatuck Rowing Club offers a First Folk Sunday brunch menu at each show. There are six concerts scheduled for 2025. All shows begin at 12:30 and doors open at noon. It is advisable to purchase tickets in advance as every show last season did sell out.
