First Day Hike
Put this one on your calendar! This First Day Hike is co-hosted with Southbury Land Trust and Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition. It's also a two-part hike. PRWC's Carol Haskins will lead us along a portion of the Marc J. Taylor Greenway and share important and fun facts about the river. We'll learn how PRWC monitoring helps keep our drinking water safe and how important land conservation is to a healthy watershed. We'll also learn what critters live in water and along the banks of the Pomperaug. For those interested, an extended hike to the ridge and back will follow. Park in one of two lots on Flood Bridge Road. Wear appropriate footwear as we will cross farm fields and walk along the river. Questions to 203-264-4441 Southbury Land Trust.
