Fireside Chat Tea With Rosie at The Newton of Ypsilanti
Join us for tea and delectables at the historic and elegant Newton House in Ypsilanti, and enjoy a WWII-themed afternoon seated at tables ’round the fireplace. During World War II, President Franklin Roosevelt brought comfort, hope, and confidence into American homes with his ‘Fireside Chat’ radio speeches. Sip, nibble, and stay cozy as you experience a moment in history with speakers Jeannette Gutierrez and Joy Rose of the American Rosie the Riveter Association. Sample tea and delicious treats made by Master Chef and Hostess Allison Anastasio and her staff, while you meet and mingle with real World War II “Rosie the Riveters.” A true fireside experience!
The stately and graciously appointed Newton House is Metro Detroit's newest Bed & Breakfast Inn and Event Venue, and a wonderful addition to the Ypsilanti foodie scene.
