Favianna Rodriguez, Artist talk: Power From the Roots
Favianna Rodriguez will be at UCSC to deliver an artist talk at the Stevenson Event Center from 4-6:00. Favianna's art and praxis address migration, gender justice, climate change, racial equity, and sexual freedom. Her signature mark-making embodies the perspective of a first-generation American Latinx artist with Afro-Latinx roots who grew up in Oakland, California. Favianna's speeches have inspired audiences around the world including at the United Nations Climate Summit, Sundance Film Festival, & Smithsonian. She will talk about how art can inspire, educate, and help spur the imagination towards social change.
