Family Saturday: Building Rain Gardens!
Join us for a fun-filled Family Saturday where kids and grown-ups alike can discover the magic of rain gardens. Learn how to catch rainwater and use it to help native desert plants thrive. Plus, take home a special planting kit to start your very own rain garden!
Activities run 9am to noon, and the rain garden workshop for families starts at 10am.
For all families that complete this hands-on workshop, you can take home a small native plant kit to kickstart your journey into being a part of the solution of cooling Tucson. The workshop is geared for children, teens, and adults, so bring everyone to participate, and then build a rain garden as a family at home.
Our Cooling Rain Garden Kit is limited to one per household and includes two native trees, two native shrubs, wood-chip mulch, and seeds. We are giving out these kits for free for everyone interested in putting in the work at their own home and sharing back with us once the garden is complete.
And that’s not all! Family Saturday is packed with interactive activities for all ages, so come ready to explore, play, and connect with nature.
