🖌️ "Skilled Labor: Black Realism in Detroit" will feature 20 extraordinary Detroit artists who are masters in drawing and painting the Black body. This exhibition is a collaborative curation effort alongside Detroit-based artist Mario Moore, known for his globally recognized work that epitomizes this high level of expertise.
🖼️ "LeRoy Foster: Solo Show" pays homage to an icon ahead of his time! LeRoy Foster, the "Michelangelo of Detroit," is taking center stage, showcasing the rich history of Black realism. This exhibition is a great companion to "Skilled Labor," highlighting the camaraderie and legacy found in the Detroit arts scene.
📷 "Carl Toth: Reordering Fictions" dives into the legacy of Carl Toth, former Artist-in-Residency in the Photography department at Cranbrook Academy of Art from 1972-2007. ☀️ "Ash Arder: Flesh Tones" explores the intersection of industry and intimacy. Ash Arder's sculptures, born from the industrial landscape, tell stories of resilience and transformation, offering a fresh perspective on our relationship with the environment.
Online registration for the Opening Preview Party closes at 12pm ET on Friday, October 27, 2023. General public and ArtMember admission/check-in for the opening preview will be available at the door.
