Fall Choral Concert
The concert will showcase performances by "The Lads," an ensemble of lower voices, and "The Lassies," an ensemble of higher voices. These groups will unite to form "Off Kilter," a chamber group of mixed voices.The concert's repertoire spans a variety of historical styles and genres. The program includes “In stiller Nacht,” one of Johannes Brahms' most cherished folk song arrangements, and Paul John Rudoi’s “Yonder Come Day,” a traditional melody from the Georgia Sea Islands. The Lads will also perform Rudoi’s “Last Kind Words,” an anthem celebrating life's most meaningful moments, while The Lassies will add a touch of fun with Billy Joel’s “The Longest Time,” arranged by Brent Sawyer.
The director of Off Kilter and Lassies is Stacey Murphy Wilner. Jenny Olander Anderson serves as the director for the Lads and as collaborative pianist for the Lassies. Chase Hatmaker is the pianist Off Kilter and Lads, while his wife Amber Nejme-Hatmaker, is the percussionist.
