Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is well known for his poetry, but he was also a keen and methodical observer of the natural world, contributing the seeds of a more holistic, context-centered approach to modern science. So, how do we study color in a Goethean way? Phenomena inform and modify our knowledge. By attending to appearances of color in the world, the question “Why is the sky blue?” becomes the question “Where and how does the color blue appear? Join Henrike Holdrege for three Saturday mornings to explore the ways of color in the world through nature observations and experiments.
