One of the highlights of the evening will be Richard Strauss’s exuberant tone poem “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks.” This whimsical piece brings to life the mischievous legend of Till Eulenspiegel, a notorious trickster from German folklore. Sibelius' Andante Festivo (with WPHS string students) is built on a single, noble theme that slowly blossoms, passed from voice to voice in the strings. Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, "Pastoral," is a profound expression of the human spirit in harmony with the earth. Tickets: $30 adults, $10 high school and college students, under age 14 free.
