Next, the spotlight shines on soloist Catherine Peterson, Assistant Principal Flute for the Colorado Symphony, performing Jacques Ibert's virtuosic Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, a masterpiece of sparkling wit and lyrical beauty.
The program culminates with Felix Mendelssohn's powerful Symphony No. 5 "Reformation" a profound work that celebrates the resilience of faith and concludes with a triumphant finale based on Martin Luther's hymn "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God."
