Ever Changing, Ever Growing: Confinement in the Land of Enchantment
A repeat performance since February’s event got snowed out! Albuquerque’s readers theater group, JACL Players, chronicles the lives of 4,555 men of Japanese ancestry who the U.S. government incarcerated as "enemy aliens" in Lordsburg, Santa Fe, and Fort Stanton during World War II. The little-known stories of these camps and the townspeople who lived in close proximity are funny, tragic, hopeful, and inspiring. This multimedia performance is 50 minutes long and is followed by a post-play discussion with the cast.
