Environmental Justice Alliance Community Meeting
The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation invites the public to attend the Environmental Justice Alliance’s second community meeting to discuss actions the group plans to take to address flooding and increase green infrastructure in the City of Hackensack.
Actions to be discussed include:
• installing a rain garden at a location to be announced in the future and
• creating a green infrastructure plan.
The NNJCF will discuss the impact of recent flooding occurrences in the city and will also present another environmental initiative under development -- Hackensack River Nation.
Participants in the meeting will learn how they can get involved with developing the rain garden or the green infrastructure plan. The NNJCF invites anyone living or working in Hackensack, who would like to be involved in addressing flooding in the city or to help beautify Central Hackensack through additional green infrastructure, to attend and participate.
Light refreshments will be served (snacks and soft drinks).
The Green Infrastructure for Environmental Justice project is produced by Northern New Jersey Community Foundation in partnership with the City of Hackensack, NJ and Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc. - GBCA, in conjunction with Hackensack residents and representatives of several organizations in Hackensack.
