EMU Choir at Historic Ypsilanti First United Methodist Church
One of the most active and accomplished choral ensembles in the Midwest, the EMU Choir builds on a tradition of singing at EMU dating to 1854. This auditioned choir tours regularly, with a focus on art music for advanced choral ensembles. Accomplishments include three European concert tours; four performances with Grammy-nominated tenor, Andrea Bocelli; a Carnegie Hall Performance; Central/North Central American Choral Directors Association Conference; Michigan Music Conference; Michigan ACDA State Conference; finalist in the American Prize; and the release of six recordings in the past nine artistic seasons. There is no admission charge for this performance. A free will offering will be available for attendees who wish to donate to support the church’s outreach and service projects.
