Emergency Medical Services: What You Need to Know
Join us to learn about San Diego County’s emergency medical services (EMS) system, with representatives from Heartland Fire & Rescue, Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s Emergency Department, and other critical community services. This is a unique opportunity to learn how your local system works, with plenty of time for Q&A with the experts. You will learn:
* How to tell the difference between emergency and non-emergency situations
* What happens when you call 9-1-1
* How the regional EMS system directs first responders during an emergency
* When to go to an emergency room versus an urgent care clinic
* Local resources for getting the right care at the right time
