Ryan Metzger, Ridwell’s CEO and Co-founder, has overseen Ridwell since its inception in 2018. At that time, not satisfied with existing options for getting rid of hard-to-recycle items around his home, Ryan and his son Owen started a project in Seattle helping their neighbors see how simple it could be to keep things from landfills. Now, more than 90,000 Ridwell members in seven states have saved more than 18 million pounds of stuff. Ryan earned his B.A. and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and previously held marketing roles at Madrona Venture Group, zulily, and Microsoft.
