Earth Day Homeschool Family Field Trip Day
Calling all homeschool families! Join us at the GCV&M Nature Center to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Earth Day with your family! Enjoy a day of fun and learning about our planet. Families who participate will:
Take a guided 1.5 mile hike on our Web of Life Trail, where you can search for salamanders, visit a vernal pond, and explore the changes of spring! *This hike features slight elevation; path may be bumpy due to roots and rocks, but is relatively stroller-friendly.
Contribute to a fort village in the woods! Use sticks, stones, and other natural resources to add to your unique mark to our “fort village”
Dip nets into our educational ponds to discover what reptiles, amphibians, insects, and plants call them home
Make recycled arts and crafts
See a composting system in action and learn the ways your can start one at your own home
Play amphibian-themed games
