Dreadneck Wednesdays at Flamingo Cantina
The Mau Mau Chaplains have been performing weekly at the legendary Flamingo Cantina for over 16 years with their brand of roots reggae, ska and more. The band features some of Austin's finest musicians including Alan Moe Monsarrat on bass and vocals and known for his history with the Lotions and StopTheTruck; Ed Ferguson on guitar, Jeremy Carlson - keys (Lion Heights), Darius Jackson on guitar, Dr. Dubbist - percussion, Mark Wilson - sax (Shiny Ribs), Tiger Anya - trumpet (Shiny Ribs), Micah Shalom - trumpet/trombone, Donny Silverman on sax, R.J. Johnson - drums.
The band performs two sets with the first one starting 10:30 p.m. This set is also livestreamed via the Flamingo Cantina's social media FB and IG pages as well as The Austin Music TV network on Ch. 16 Spectrum. The sets are lively and the dancefloor full. Winston's Kitchen caters the event with delicious Caribbean fare. DJ spins between sets.
