Photographs are a wonderful resource, but capturing the essence of the horse from life offers unique benefits. This two-day workshop focuses on drawing horses from life, emphasizing direct observation, structure, and gesture. Students will study an overview of equine anatomy, movement, and proportion while working on-site with live horses.
While drawing experience is great, we welcome participants of all levels. Through a series of guided exercises and longer studies, participants will explore capturing form, character, and the energy of these beautiful animals.
This is a 2-day workshop on June 27 and 28 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. each day. Cost is just $50 for both days and includes all tools & materials. If participants wish to bring their own supplies and drawings boards or easels they are welcome to do so. Drawing boards, 11x17 paper, graphite, charcoal, and pastels will be provided.
Participants should bring a comfortable chair or seat or cushion as those are not provided on site.
