Dr. Rekha Rajan Introduces Her Beginning Reader Series DISASTER SQUAD
Dr. Rekha Rajan visits The Book Stall on Saturday, October 19 at 3:00 pm to introduce her new series Disaster Squad. Aimed at newly independent readers, this series features Leela, Jaden, and the rest of the Jackson family as they travel the country and respond to natural disasters, helping people in need and rescuing animals along the way. Dr. Rejan’s author visits have been super popular at area schools, and we are delighted to introduce her to our bookstore audience! More About the Author: Rekha S. Rajan, EdD. has been an educator for more than 20 years. She holds a doctorate and master's in education from Columbia University and a master's in early childhood education from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Dr. Rajan is the author of six books for teachers specializing in integrating the Performing Arts in Grades K-5 as well as how to connect the arts with STEM subjects. Her work has been featured on NPR, the National Head Start Association, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the California Alliance for Arts Education, and the National Endowment for the Arts. She lives in Chicago with her family.
