Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 36th Annual Commemoration, Washington University, Danforth Campus
The keynote speaker is Dr. Geoff K. Ward, Professor of African and African-American Studies and Director of the WashU and Slavery Project. Other speakers include Chancellor Andrew D. Martin, Provost Beverly Wendland, and Rev. Callista Isabelle, Washington University Director for Religious, Spiritual and Ethical Life. There will be performances by Black Anthology, the Washington University student run production group and the Washington University Concert Choir. Dr. Kelvin R. Adams (Superintendent, St. Louis Public Schools) and Dr. Deidra Thomas-Murray, (Students-in-Transition Coordinator and Foster Care Liaison, St. Louis Public Schools) will receive the Rosa L. Parks Award for Meritorious Service to the Community. The commemoration is free and open to the public.
