Discover Bath Barns Speaker Series: Tim Franklin

ESTEEMED LOCAL ARCHICTECT SHARES INSIGHT ON BARN PRESERVATION Bath Township, Ohio - The Discover Bath Barns Committee, a group formed to preserve and enhance the barns of Bath Township is continuing its speaker series with the goal of educating residents on the importance of honoring the agricultural traditions of the area, especially the barns used to support those endeavors. The second in the series of three presentations features Bath resident and barn preservationist Tim Franklin. Tim's talk, "Barn Again: Understanding Options for Saving Barns" will be held in the barn on Tim's property, 3433 West Bath Road on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at 7 PM. Tim Franklin, a long-time resident of Bath Township, cares very deeply about the history and culture that is unique to this area. He is the founder of Franklin & Associates, a full service architectural and construction firm specializing in residential and historical projects. Tim and his team have been recognized with awards and accolades for their work throughout the years and their projects have been featured on TV, including the recently released "Restoration Road" with Clint Harp / Magnolia Network on Discovery Plus. In addition, Tim has been Chairman of the Bath Township Appearance Review Committee for many years. "Tim Franklin and his amazing team are incredibly talented. We are delighted they are so generously sharing their knowledge of barn preservation and craftsmanship with the community" said Maureen Katanic, organizer of the Speaker Series for the Discover Bath Barns Committee. "Tim has been a champion of our area for decades and he has worked tirelessly to maintain the integrity of what makes Bath Township so special. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with a local expert about ways to preserve the many barns that help create Bath's charm and bucolic nature." About Discover Bath Barns In 2023, Discover Bath Barns was established by the Bath Township Trustees, through the Heritage Corridors of Bath Committee, to sustain a focus on the Barns of Bath Township, Summit County, Ohio to preserve and enhance these structures for the benefit of the community. The Discover Bath Barns initiative has two main goals. First, to aid willing barn owners in the preservation of the history of their Heritage Barn, in conjunction with Bath Township Historical Society and Museum. The second, to enhance the experience of visitors as they travel the scenic byways of Bath. This also includes a pathway for Heritage Barn owners to enhance their barns through the addition of barn art and barn quilts to the exterior.
