Digital Citizenship: A Free Lecture with Author Emily Bazelon

On Monday, May 6, Baldwin will be hosting a free lecture with author Emily Bazelon on the importance of responsible behavior by teenagers today. Emily will address Digital Citizenship by talking about how social media has impacted and changed the dynamics of communications. Questions such as 'How can we all master the new realm of digital communications, etiquette, privacy, rights, and responsibilities?' and 'How can your Facebook profile impact your college application?' will be discussed.

This free lecture is open to the public and is the culmination of a 5-part seminar series for Grades IX through XII. During the 4 Upper School lectures, topics explored will include talking about having romantic relationships in the digital world, what your digital footprint might say about you, the tribulations of cyberbullying, and online sharing and its risks.

Emily Bazelon is a senior editor at Slate, a contributing writer at The New York Times Magazine, and the Truman Capote Fellow for Creative Writing and Law at Yale Law School. Emily is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.
