Deborah Crooks' 'Flight Lessons' + The Welcome Matt w/ CALI&CO DANCE

Deborah Crooks' ‘Flight Lessons,’ is a bird-themed, musical-in-progress by songwriter based on a true story about Peregrine Falcons and humans living at the intersection of wild and urban habitats in Oakland, CA.
Deborah has recorded four full-length CD, including 2019's The Department of the West which The Rocking Magpie described as "...what Americana music is all about for me; imaginative, cinematic, informative and last but not least ... entertaining." In addition to her solo work, she collaborates on several projects and bands including the band Bay Station and its Love the Bay Music & Sailing Series. Deborah draws upon her experiences studying natural history and raptor conservation as she develops ‘Flight Lessons' which she began writing as an artist-in-residence at Chalk Hill in Healdsburg. For 'Flight Lessons,' she'll be joined by musician/ songwriter/performers Kwame Copeland, and Mick Shaffer.

The Welcome Matt w/CALI&CO DANCE
The Welcome Matt aka Matt Langlois is a long time indie rock/pop singer songwriter from San Francisco. Creating music on several fronts in the vein of Violent Femmes, Lou Reed and Damon Albarn as well as music composition for SF Bay Area contemporary dance company CALI&CO DANCE. Matt co-wrote “San Francisco” which was recorded by German electro pop singer CASCADA, topping the top forty charts in Germany, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Bulgaria and Slovakia.
“Be “LONE MOUNTAIN” is Matt’s 8th album and was released on the 1st May, 2023.
Cali has been active as dance professional in the SF Bay Area and beyond for 25-years, nationally, and internationally as a performer, educator and activist-artist. Through this ongoing work, Cali has been named “one of the most ferocious, spell-binding dancers I’ve seen in this city (San Francisco)” by SF Chronicle Dance Reviewer Rachel Howard and consistently receives grants, commissions and invitations to speak, teach and perform.
