After crossing the Georgia state line, we enter the winding waterways of Beach Creek, taking you inside Cumberland Island on an ideal tide. The further we get up the river, the closer you will be to the Carnegie family’s Dungeness mansion ruins. If the tide is unfavorable, we continue our journey north along one of our country’s most beautiful parks, the Cumberland Island National Seashore, and discover what life was like in past centuries for the residents of Cumberland Island. With knowledgeable guides, you will be enthralled with fascinating history and spectacular scenery, making this tour a delightful blend of heritage and nature. Marvel at beautiful coastlines, salt marshes, maritime forests, and popular landmarks while spotting the abundant wildlife, from wild horses and sea turtles to deer and wild turkeys.
