In this class you will create a dynamic duo of coptic bound journals. One to keep and one to give away – if you can bear to part with either. Coptic binding originated in 2nd century Egypt, and these books are perfect for drawing, journaling, and collage work because they can lay completely flat. Participants will make two books approximately 4.25 x 5.5 inches with decorative paper covers.
While coptic stitch is a more advanced method of bookbinding than say a simpler Pamphlet Stitch, this class is geared towards beginners and welcomes makers of all skill levels. Join us!
This is a TWO date workshop, participants must attend both dates of this class listed in the registration form: THURSDAYS, OCTOBER 17th AND OCTOBER 24th, 2024 6-8:30pm
Teaching Artist: Laura Chenault of Laurel Tree Bindery
Things to note:
• Makers of all skill levels are welcome. This class is suitable for ages teen+.
• All necessary tools to participate are provided.
