The contra at Glen Echo puts a modern spin on a New England traditional dance that dates back over 150 years. It's easy to learn. It involves some spinning around, so shoes with a smooth sole are best, and best not to drink alcohol beforehand. Callers: Colette Mrozek and Ben Sela Band: Handspring Carrie Rose (flute) , Alexander Mitchell (fiddle and mandolin), Owen Morrison (guitar) We dance in a beautiful Art Deco 1920s ballroom-- the Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park, always to live music.
