Contemplative prayer, or interior silence, can be a powerful tool to confront one’s biases, prejudices and self-centered programs for happiness.
The body of writing and practice known as Catholic Social Teaching proceeds from a rigorous intellectual tradition; however, education alone may be insufficient in overcoming our cultural assumptions, which are often accompanied by visceral reactions.
This session will analyze current and past sources on contemplative prayer to provide a theological and psychological foundation for the use of contemplative prayer for growing in the virtue of justice.
