The Seymour Library welcomes again the historian John Cilio. Mr. Cilio will present a Connecticut centered program on all the innovations (and there are many!) that changed the face of America and the world.
Since the inception of the Federal patent issuance in 1790, Connecticut has stood out as a national leader in innovation. This trend persisted well into the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries with Connecticut residents receiving patents at at rate three times higher than the national average. Join John Cilio as he delves into the fascinating world of groundbreaking discoveries, patents and inventions that have emerged from the state of Connecticut. These visionary individuals dared to challenge that status quo, developing their ideas and passions to demonstrate that radical concepts have a place in transforming peoples lives and shaping a better world.
