Community Science: Bird Walk
Join The Nature Conservancy staff at Blowing Rocks Preserve to collect observations of local and migrating bird species to contribute towards the Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Participants will be introduced to procedures and photos in the classroom before conducting a community science survey on a guided hike of approximately 1 mile on uneven, sandy terrain.
FREE! All welcome, no experience is needed. Recommended for ages 9 and up.
Please note: Participants under 18 years old MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Fun way to earn service hours, if needed.
Space is limited and registration is required.
*Optional: You may bring personal binoculars, but not required.
This event may be cancelled if attendance is below five confirmed registrants. Any cancellation notifications will be shared via email 24 hours prior to the event.
