Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 11, 2024, as the African American Historical Society of Rockland County commemorates the anniversary of the ratification of the 13th. Join us virtually from 7:00 to 8:30 PM for an evening of reflection and learning.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Myra Young Armstead, Vice President for Academic Inclusive Excellence and Lyford Paterson Edwards and Helen Gray Edwards Professor of Historical Studies, Bard College will present compelling case studies from the Upper Hudson Valley, exploring the responses of enslaved Black individuals during the American Revolution.
