Comedy Magic & Balloon Show at the Schenectady JCC
The Schenectady Jewish Community Center is hosting a comedy magic and balloon show with Mr. Twisty on Wednesday, February 21, at 11 a.m. in the Schenectady JCC’s Golub auditorium located at 2565 Balltown Road. Proceeds from this event will go directly to the Schenectady JCC Camp Chaverim’s Yurt project, which aims to raise funds to build an outdoor, three-season yurt at Camp Chaverim to be used by the camp as a programming location.
Mr. Twisty’s Super Silly Magic Show is a stand-up comedy show for kids and family audiences, where he fuses comedy and magic to appeal to a wide array of ages. For his Comedy Balloon show, Mr. Twisty rattles off a long list of balloon choices, all while speaking faster than an auctioneer and twisting balloons together to create everything from whimsical animals to impressive hats and imaginative shapes. Each balloon creation is infused with a touch of humor that leaves a lasting impression on audiences. Mr. Twisty appeals to nursery school kids, adults, and everyone in between. He has performed over 5,000 shows in several countries.
The addition of the yurt to Camp Chaverim will serve as the home base for the Schenectady JCC’s Israeli Culture Specialist to continue to connect campers with Israel each summer. It will also offer a three-season space for the Schenectady JCC’s Early Childhood programs for Shabbat gatherings, a communal space for after school programs, and opportunities for seniors to gather for programs.
