Come learn about West-MEC at Experience Orange

Guests will see the West-MEC’s dynamic career opportunities and partnerships available on all four of West-MEC’s campuses and partner programs for high school and adult students. Additionally, all guests will have the chance to tour the state-of-the-industry facilities the Northwest Campus has to offer. Not to mention, West-MEC Coding program completer, Jose Gonzalez, will be speaking on his West-MEC journey, and how it led him on a path toward economic independence. It was often difficult for Gonzalez to get to West-MEC because his parents had to use the family vehicles to get to work. Transportation was a constant issue for him, but he worked his way through it and is now thriving in the programming industry. Now his sister attends West-MEC. Gonzalez didn’t want her to face the same difficulty getting to class as he did, so he gifted her his Jeep and bought a new car for himself. This is just one example of how West-MEC can change the lives of its students and their families. “I thought it was really exciting to see firsthand what opportunities kids are getting at West-MEC,” said Diedre Shetler, STEM Specialist at Cartwright school district and Experience Orange 2022 guest. “The industry and leadership opportunities available at West-MEC are such huge motivational factors for kids.” If you are interested in learning more about the wonderful things West-MEC can do for students, join us at West-MEC’s Northwest Campus on Friday, Oct. 27. West-MEC’s Northwest Campus is located at 13201 W Grand Ave in Surprise. About West-MEC: West-MEC is a career technical education public school district focusing solely on innovative career and technical education (CTE) programs that prepare students to enter the workforce and pursue continuing education.
