A Monsoon of Color: 11th Annual D.C. Holi Festival of Colors Set to Transform Bull Run into a Global Masterpiece This Sunday!
CENTREVILLE, Va. — The landscape of Northern Virginia will be fundamentally transformed this Sunday, May 3. From noon to 7 p.m., the Bull Run Special Event Center will host the D.C. Holi Festival of Colors, an epic convergence of ancient tradition and modern spectacle that promises to be the most high-octane cultural event of the year.
Produced by Manish and Deepa Sood of Intense Entertainment, the festival returns for its 11th year at Bull Run Special Events Center. As the beat of the dhol drums echoes across the grounds, thousands will gather for the event's signature ritual: the "Throwing of the Colors."
To ensure a safe and family-friendly environment, a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding outside items will be in effect. Attendees are absolutely not allowed to bring outside alcohol, food, or color powders into the park. Every guest will undergo a mandatory, thorough security search prior to entry. All refreshments, including a full bar with beer, wine, and liquor, must be purchased exclusively from licensed vendors inside the event grounds.
The Art of the Throw: A Living Masterpiece The heart of the festival lies in the synchronized color throws. Every hour, the music builds to a crescendo as the crowd joins a massive countdown. On the final beat, thousands launch vibrant handfuls of certified organic, non-toxic Gulal into the air simultaneously. This creates a soaring, neon cloud that blankets the grounds and transforms the sky into a kaleidoscope of colors.
A Cultural Marketplace and Feast Beyond the stage, attendees can immerse themselves in a sprawling cultural bazaar. A wide array of renowned Indian restaurants will be on-site serving authentic cuisine and international desserts, while specialized kiosks will offer a curated selection of traditional dresses and handcrafted jewelry.
The Bull Run Special Events Center is located within Bull Run Regional Park at 7700 Bull Run Drive, Centreville, Va. 20121.
