Clay Bowl Making Event
Empty Bowls is back! Empty Bowls is a fundraiser that raises money and awareness for Dorcas International, and Blessings in a Backpack. Dorcas International is an inclusive community for immigrants and for those seeking refuge by providing integrated services, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and nurturing strong partnerships. Blessings in a Backpack is a national program that mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
In order to help achieve this goal DMS is hosting a fundraiser known as “Empty Bowls” on March 21, 2024, from 5-7 pm.
Prior to the Empty Bowls event on March 21, the community is welcome to join seventh-grade students at Davisville Middle School for a free event to make bowls for the fundraiser. The bowl-making event will be led by ceramic artist Annemarie Lambert, on February 28, 2024, from 5:30-7:30 pm. This event is made possible with funding support by the North Kingstown Arts Council.
The bowls that are made on February 28 will be used in the Empty Bowls Fundraising Event at Davisville Middle School on March 21. With a small donation of $12, you will be able to taste a wide variety of homemade soups and take home a handmade clay bowl that was made by the community.
