City of Westland Blues, Brews & Barbecue


The City of Westland's signature summer event, the Blues, Brews & Barbecue Festival, returns on Aug. 7-8, 2026, for two unforgettable days of free live entertainment, food, and family fun at Thomas H. Brown Central City Park. Admission and parking are completely free for all guests. Live Music The festival will feature an electrifying lineup of 30 live performances across multiple stages, spanning genres including blues, rock, soul, R&B, and Americana. The event is highlighted by nationally touring headliners: Derrick Dove & The Peacekeepers (Southern-Fried Blues/Rock) Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials (Legendary Chicago Blues) Jovin Webb (Louisiana Blues and Soul) Chambers & DesLauriers (Blues, Soul, Rock & Roll) Barbecue and Brews Attendees can savor top-tier barbecue from professional pitmasters competing for honors, including returning favorites Famous Dave’s, House of Barbecue, Old Dad’s, and Rib King. Beyond barbecue, the expanded food lineup features a variety of festival fare, carnival classics, and desserts from vendors like Marco's, Meltdown Creamery, and Chubz Smoke House. A giant beer tent will offer domestic beers, craft selections (such as Golden Road Mango Cart and Stella Artois), and ready-to-drink options like NÜTRL Vodka Seltzers and Cutwater Margaritas. Additional Event Highlights Nightly Finales: The sky lights up with a spectacular Drone Light Show on Friday, Aug. 7, at 10:45 p.m., followed by the biggest fireworks display in Westland's history on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 p.m. Cornhole Tournament: New this year, the Westland Blues, Brews and Barbecue Cornhole Tournament runs Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Teams can compete in competitive or backyard casual divisions for over $2,000 in cash and prizes, including a stay at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.1 Kids Fun Zone: The area provides a vibrant array of activities for children, including inflatables, arts and crafts, captivating magic shows, and a special appearance by the Westland Fire Department on Saturday afternoon. The festival hours are 4–11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8. The location is Thomas H. Brown Central City Park (36601 Ford Rd.). Free shuttle service will run throughout the day every 15 minutes from the parking lots at John Glenn High School, William D. Ford Vocational Technical School, and the Senior Friendship Center. Pets (except service animals), outside food or beverages, and soliciting are not permitted
