Christmas in July
The St Ann Arts and Cultural Center is hosting its 4th annual Christmas in July event at Chelo’s Hometown Bar & Grille at 490 Clinton St in Woonsocket. With tropical holiday music playing in the background, Chelo’s will be decorated in a summer time Christmas Décor. Of course, dressed in their summer vacation attire, will be Santa and Mrs. Claus where they will be on hand for great photo opportunities.
Everyone who participates will be entered into a raffle to win one of several prizes including gift cards. Adding to the day’s festivities will be a dunk tank.
“Christmas in July has become a fun, all day event”, says Wally Rathbun, chair of the Center. He continued, “This event allows us to relax a little bit while raising funds. When you consider the amount of work that goes into an event, this special event takes a lot of the work off of our plate. Besides planning, set-up can start several weeks prior to an event. Then you have the cooking, the hosting and the serving. When the event is over, you have several days of clean up. By having an event like this at Chelo’s, all we have to do is get the word out, decorate and say hello to everyone as they come into the restaurant. We are always looking to up our game and this year, in addition to the prizes for participating, we are bringing in a dunk tank. Who will be in it? You’ll have to come and see!”
To participate, all you need is a sponsor card and dine at Chelo’s on July 12th. The sponsor card can be obtained at these local businesses: Bileau’s Flowers, Creative Impressions, The Honey Shop, Li’l General Cumberland Hill Rd, Missy’s Family Restaurant, Pine Swamp Place – Gift Shop, Timeless Antiques and Collectables or Vose True Value Hardware. Present the sponsor card to your server and Chelo’s will donate up to 20% of your check to the St Ann Arts and Cultural Center.
