Christmas Concert with the Tema Choir
Bring your friends and family, to what will be a wonderful launch into the holiday season. The Tema Choir USA, Inc. will be holding its Fifth Anniversary Launch Christmas Concert in collaboration with the New Dominion Choraliers on Saturday, December 2 at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church on 14508 Telegraph Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192. This glorious performance will also feature musicians from the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra. The Choirs will be singing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, Ghanaian Christmas Songs and Carols.

Founded in November 2019, Tema Choir USA is a volunteer choir with a mission to create community, foster unity, and build a better world through music. Comprised of singers representing a wide range of age, religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds, Tema Choir USA uses choral music as a vehicle for bringing communities together to promote fellowship and community service. Tema Choir USA, Inc. raises funds through concerts and donations to support service projects benefitting youth, the elderly, homeless, and others with special needs
Tema Choir USA, Inc. takes its roots from famous Ghanaian choral music group, Tema Youth Choir. This community choir based in Tema, Ghana, has grown over the years and is known as one of the most renown choirs in Ghana. Following the relocation of the founder of Tema Youth Choir, Ebenezer A. Allotey, to the United States of America from Ghana, Tema Choir USA was created to sustain and build upon its sister choir’s praiseworthy legacy. Singers include persons who have come to the United States from Ghana and are located primarily in Northern Virginia. The choir is based in Woodbridge, Virginia.
The choir sings attired in beautiful garments tailored from fabrics made in Ghana. Their performances are known for an eclectic mix of several musical genres including hymns, rhythmic contemporary Highlife songs; songs by African composers, and works by master composers like Handel’s “The Messiah.” Audiences are appreciative of the choral variety, musicianship, and excellence in performance. Their singing helps bridge the gap between homeland, Ghana, and their present environment in Northern Virginia.
