Chinese Theatre Works Presents “Hao Bang Ah! Dragon!” Puppet shows
Chinese Theatre Works is thrilled to announce a special series of family-friendly puppet shows, "Hao Bang Ah! Dragon!", as part of the Bronx Zoo’s year-long 125th anniversary celebration. This festive performance series will take place on August 10, 11, 17, and 18, 2024, at the Grizzly Corner Tent.
"Hao Bang Ah! Dragon!" brings the enchanting world of Chinese hand puppetry, or budaixi, to life. Starring this year’s zodiac animal, the Dragon, the show features a jolly selection of wild puppet skits, dances, songs, and well known Chinese sayings that celebrate the wit and wisdom of the zodiac animals. With three performances each day at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., families are invited to experience this unique cultural showcase that highlights the rich heritage and artistry of Chinese puppetry.
