Ceremonial Drums of Cochiti Pueblo
Arnold Herrera is a perfect example of how learning traditional customs continues to be passed on generation to generation. As far back as he remembers Arnold stood by his father’s side learning how to make and play Cochiti ceremonial drums. To this day, Arnold recognizes how critical it is to maintain and preserve the Puebloan traditional way of life—the drums, the songs, the ceremonial dances—by keeping them alive in today’s modern world. Remember to bring a seat cushion/pad, water, snacks, and apply sunscreen.
