Celebration Mile
Blue Ash Recreation is excited to announce the 2024 Celebration Mile, a one-mile walk and run designed to celebrate and support individuals of all abilities. This inclusive event will take place on Friday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Ash Nature Park, 4337 Cooper Road. The Celebration Mile is an annual event, inspired by Anna’s Barrier Free Bootcamp, dedicated to promoting inclusivity and celebrating the diverse abilities within our community. Participants will have the opportunity to walk or run a one-mile course, with plenty of encouragement and support along the way. This event is open to everyone, and we warmly welcome individuals with disabilities, their families, friends, and supporters to join in the celebration.
After completing the course, participants and spectators can enjoy refreshments provided by Blue Ash Community Church. The celebration continues with a dance party, where everyone can enjoy music, dance, and community spirit.
“We are thrilled to host the third annual Celebration Mile. This event embodies the spirit of community,” said Margaret O’Gorman, General Manager of Recreation Events and Programming. “Our goal is to create a fun and supportive environment for everyone.”
This year the event has expanded to include several community resource partners: Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, Blue Ash Community Church, Gigi's Playhouse Cincinnati, Big Blue Canopy, Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, and Momentum Refresh.
